Dr. Matthies is an Orthopaedic Surgeon at University Health Network - Toronto Western Hospital. Prior to this, she spent three and a half years as a staff surgeon at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. She specializes in sports medicine and arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder, with focus on ligament reconstruction, patellar instability, shoulder instability and rotator cuff pathology.
Dr. Matthies completed her residency from the University of Toronto in 2018 and subsequently completed two subspeciality fellowships in sports medicine & arthroscopy and trauma & arthroplasty. She is the current head orthopaedic surgeon for the National Ballet of Canada and has worked as an assistant team physician for the Toronto Raptors and the Toronto FC.
